An American native tree. Most will eventually grow to be quite large, so choose your planting site wisely.

Notable for their long, tropical-looking, glossy green foliage, and abundant crops of sweet and nutritious nuts. Chestnuts are a carb-rich nut and are delicious roasted or boiled.

COLOSSAL SEEDLING (Castanea spp.) - This hybrid of Japanese and European Chestnut is disease resistant and bears abundant crops of large, sweet nuts.

Sun: Abundant, direct sunlight.

Soil: Fertile, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil.

Water: Regular water (2-4x/week) for the first year or two especially with little rains.
